So Worth It

May 31st, 2007 by WithaK

Sometimes I wish I were rich and eccentric, or 10 years younger and a woman.

This would so be worth it.
The entire Family Feud set is for sale on eBay. It’s currently going for $1200.

It’s not all the expensive, I would just need to be rich in order to have the room to use it.

Board games are out. Giant sets are in.

“What do all guys want to see”?

Miss a show?

May 31st, 2007 by WithaK

How many times have you missed a show only to never see it rebroadcast?

Don’t feel like waiting for the dvds to come out?
Or do you just want to rewatch shows that you’ve already seen?

Checkout the TV Torrent Calendar.
It’s basically a month by month calendar of most prime-time shows with descriptions of each and links to where you can find the episodes for download.

They even have my Doctor Who straight from the U.K.!

You can also customize it to show only your favorite shows.

I will definitely be hitting this up in the fall.

Chicken

I think this video is an excellent litmus test. If you laugh at this then you and I have a similar sense of humor. If you don’t see the point of this video…this just isn’t going to work out.

I’m not maligning your sense of humor, just implying that maybe there’s not much here for you.

I’m glad that I watched this at home for the first time as I had to watch it twice because I was laughing so hard during the first viewing that I had to put my head down on my desk.

Shady

May 25th, 2007 by WithaK

I learned something valueable tonight.

By choosing from the cheapeast services via the phone book you significantly raise your chances of encountering a shady business.
I called a company earlier today to pickup and dispose of our old dead refridgerator. They said they would have a “tech” call me back in a few minutes to schedule a pickup.

Hours later they hadn’t called, so I figured they’d call the next day.

Just as I was getting into bed at 10 p.m. (it’s been a busy week, shut up) they called and said they’d be out in 5 minutes.

The guy finally showed up in his truck around 11:30.

Who the hell comes out this late on a Friday night on a non-emergency call that wasn’t requested by the customer?

Weird.

These go to 11

On my last trip to see my parents I sat down and played some video games with my old buddy Josh. I played Guitar Hero II for the first time. I enjoyed it right away. It was very satisfying to 5-star Sweet Child Of Mine on my second try, even if it was on easy.

Coming away from that I said that I would totally buy Guitar Hero III if it had any Muse on it. I figured that was a long shot, but according to a recent press release they’re including Muse - Knights of Cydonia!

Currently known track list:

Paint It Black - The Rolling Stones
Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
The Metal - Tenacious D
My Name is Jonas - Weezer
Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Rock And Roll All Nite - Kiss
School’s Out - Alice Cooper
Slow Ride - Fog Hat
Cult of Personality - Living Colour
Barracuda - Heart

I look forward to rocking out on Knights of Cydonia, which if you weren’t aware has an awesomely awesome video.

Seriously, I dare you to find anything that is not awesome in this:

Cuddle Cuddle Baby

May 23rd, 2007 by WithaK

As promised, here’s “Cuddle Cuddle Baby” as performed by Brie and Hayden.

I didn’t get the camera out fast enough, so you only get the last half of the song. I am sure you can figure out how the beginning goes.

“I’m having a baby”

May 22nd, 2007 by WithaK

Last night we finally told Hayden about Baby(boy)2.0.

All along we’ve talked about babies and gently broached the topic of brotherhood, but we hadn’t officially told him that he’s going to be a big brother yet.

We figured with the toddler concept of time it would be a little hard to explain how long it takes babies to grow.

Hayden and Mommy and Baby Watching Dora
Hayden wanted to watch Dora with Baby, so he’s laying with mommy and telling Baby what’s happening

We figured that now that Brie is 6 months along and officially showing we should probably break the news, so we picked up a few books:

  • I’m a Big Brother - Does a good job of explaining what it’s like to be a big brother and points out all the fun things big kids do that babies can’t, like eat pizza and ice cream.
  • Waiting for Baby - Details the process of waiting for a new baby and how long it takes and looking forward to the new baby.
  • Will there be a Lap for Me? - Emphasizes how things may change but the special bond with a parent will not be broken by a new baby.

We also talked more indepth about where babies come from and how everyone used to be a baby. Hayden took to it very well and is excited about the new baby, though we did need to correct him when he said there was a baby growing inside him. Hopefully we can keep the positive energy going.

Hayden is very good at being helpful, so we think he’ll take well to helping with baby tasks like getting bottles and things like that.

For now he is the official baby song singer. Brie says that last night they made up a song for the baby called “Cuddle Cuddle Baby”. I didn’t get a chance to hear, but I’m sure it’s adorable. I’ll get some video up soon.

Now that Hayden knows we no longer have to announce to anyone that we’re pregnant, which is great for me, because I still haven’t figured out how to make announcements like that and it always comes out awkwardly. Hayden, on the other hand, is great at just putting it out there.

For example, Hayden’s entire daycare now knows we’re pregnant less than 24 hours after we told him.

You’ve got the touch!

I realize that there’s no way the the new Transformer’s movie can be reach it’s full awesomeness.

But Yahoo’s Exclusive Trailer is getting me pretty excited. Already I can see things that are definitely going to annoy the crap out of me, but then I see StarScream fly in and transform mid-air and it’s absolutely perfect.

That combined with Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, being onboard and recording a few fan favorites as Prime and I’m sold.
Sign me up for opening day.

I’m really jonesing for the original Transformer’s movie right now, but I only have it on VHS, and it turns out that my VHS player is dead.

I guess I’ll just have to stick with this until I pick it up on DVD.

I’m officially declaring “The Touch” to be more inspiring than “Eye of The Tiger”.
That’s right Survivor, I said it.

It’s a series of tubes!

If someone sends you an internet and it takes a week to get to you, it’s probably because ABC thinks the internets are a truck.

Sidenote: I wonder if in 30 years I will have any clue what the hell that means.

Dear 58 year old self,

In case you don’t remember what that means, watch this video of the said pop culture event remixed with what is surely now classical music.

Now stop yelling at me for not putting enough money in my IRA when I had the chance, go back outside to tell young people you don’t understand their music and tell them to get off of your genetically engineered lawn.

Demetri Martin reference ahoy

Looking at this picture fills me with fear.

We have to fear tigers in the water now? I thought that was the one place I was safe!
When will this madness end?

I guess now I’ll have to start fearing land sharks.
